OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP)

The OSHA Voluntary Protection Program is an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) that grew out of the need for managing safety in the work environment. 

The program tracks very closely with the OHSAS 18001 Standard and can easily be integrated with the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.  Many sub-clauses are very similar, such as management review and corrective and preventive action.

Intent

The VPP system is geared towards reducing and preventing accidents and accident-related loss of lives, time and resources.
